A New Site, a Remote Team, and Everything Else That Changed This Year

Museum updates

There’s a version of this post that opens with an apology for the gap since our last one. We’re not writing that version. The honest answer is simpler: it’s been an exceptionally busy year, the kind that leaves no time for a blog and no shortage of things worth writing about once you finally sit down to do it.

A studio going quiet on its own blog usually means one of two things: the work dried up, or the website got deprioritised because everything else did. For us it’s been the second, and it’s worth explaining rather than skating past. Heritage organisations kept coming to us this year, more of them and a wider range, from volunteer-run museums to manor house trusts and conservation charities, and the studio built to serve them changed shape to keep up with that.

One of the first things to go was our own website. You’re looking at the result: rebuilt from the ground up. A studio that tells clients to invest properly in their own digital presence should be willing to do the same for itself, and the old site no longer reflected what that specialism actually looks like.

A few things changed structurally too. We’ve left the barn behind. Heritage Creative has always worked from a studio in Herefordshire, exposed beams included, but the team is now fully remote. What hasn’t changed is the specialism: everyone doing client work here works exclusively within heritage, culture and history, not heritage as one vertical among several. The team has grown to match the workload, with copywriters, designers and developers hired specifically because they already work in this sector, not generalists asked to learn it on the job.

It’s been a genuinely good year, busy for the right reasons. If you want early word when Mastermind dates land, let us know and we’ll add you to the list.
